Uncertainty Not
By bizmark • Nov 21st, 2008 • Category: PoliticsIf anyone has nagging feelings of uncertainty about what the future holds for the market and the economy, the message has been broadcasted loud and clear. Rahm Emanuel, the Chief of Staff of the Office of the President-elect:
You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. What I mean by that is it’s an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before. This is an opportunity. What used to be long-term problems — be they in the health care area, energy area, education area, fiscal area, tax area, regulatory reform area — things that we had postponed for too long that were long-term are now immediate and must be dealt with. And this crisis provides the opportunity for us, as I would say, the opportunity to do things that you could not do before.
The President-elect himself:
Although we have yet to achieve that goal, we aspire to be a classless society…
In case you are suffering from an education by government schools and haven’t heard of this point of view, this was Karl Marx’ contribution to individual freedom:
… the class struggle necessarily leads to the dictatorship of the proletariat, and that this dictatorship itself only constitutes the transition to the abolition of all classes and a classless society
An on-going crisis is required to achieve this “Change that we can believe in” . Don’t expect any solutions from the govt to actually solve economic problems- it’s all about advancing toward a Brave New World.
